Acceptable Use Policy
What you may and may not do on Catch Gist, including content rules, deepfakes, and how to report a problem.

What Catch Gist is
Catch Gist is a private interpretation assistant. You paste a page or a document, catch the gist in conversation, then interrupt and ask until it makes sense.
A session is that conversation. It is not a reading of the whole page or document. What you hear is an interpretation, not a promise that every sentence of the source was covered. The speech is a generated voice for this conversation. Catch Gist does not clone a real person's voice, and it does not offer a Pro plan.
Two providers help produce that conversation:
- DeepSeek writes the gist and the answers.
- APIMart turns them into speech, using the gpt-4o-mini-tts model.
We send those providers the material needed for that session. This policy is about what you may submit and what you may do with the result. Our Privacy Policy explains the data side.
Who may use it
You must be at least 16 years old. If the law where you live sets a higher age, you must meet that age. You may not use Catch Gist on behalf of someone who does not meet it.
Content we do not allow
Do not paste, upload, ask for, or try to generate any of the following. The rule covers both what you put in and what you try to get out.
- Sexual content, including pornography and sexual roleplay. Catch Gist is not an adult service.
- Sexual content involving anyone under 18, including illustrated, fictional, or AI-generated sexual content of a minor. We prohibit it absolutely. We may report it to the authorities and we will not keep a copy in a support ticket if you send one — describe the problem instead of attaching the material.
- Violence, including graphic violence, threats, or content that encourages harm to a person or a group.
- Hate, including content that attacks or dehumanizes people on the basis of race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, sex, gender, or sexual orientation.
- An unauthorized deepfake of a real person. Do not ask Catch Gist to imitate a real person's voice, face, or identity, or to speak as that person, unless you have their permission. Do not use the result to deceive someone into thinking a real person said it.
- Copyright or trademark misuse. Do not submit material you do not have the right to use. Do not use the output to infringe someone else's copyright, trademark, or other right, or to pass the output off as the original work.
- Illegal, fraudulent, or abusive use, including scams, malware, attempts to break the service, or harassment.
We may refuse a single request even when an account stays open.
Rights you give us in what you paste or upload
You keep ownership of the text, documents, and other materials you submit.
You grant Catch Gist a limited, non-exclusive license to host, copy, transmit, and process that material only so we can run the service for you: catch the gist, answer the questions you ask in that session, keep the session working, and enforce this policy. That includes sending the needed portion to DeepSeek and to APIMart, as described above.
This license ends when the material is no longer needed for those purposes, except where we must keep a record for security, fraud prevention, or the law. We do not take ownership of your material, and we do not claim a right to sell it or to use it in advertising.
You confirm that you have the rights needed to give this license.
What Catch Gist does not offer
- A reading of the whole page or document, or listening time sold by the minute.
- A Pro plan, or a purchase that adds sessions after this month's allowance is used. Free is 3 complete sessions a month. Plus is 100 a month, on the monthly plan and on the yearly plan. When that allowance is used, you wait until the next month. Billing for that wait is covered in the Refund Policy.
- A cloned, uploaded, or imitated voice of a real person. Asking for that without the person's permission is prohibited above. The voice you hear is a generated voice for this conversation, not a recording of the author.
Boundaries on inputs and outputs
- Submit only material you are allowed to share with an AI service and with the providers named above.
- The gist is a conversation about the point. It leaves things out. Answers depend on what you ask. Neither one is a reading of the whole source.
- Output can be wrong, outdated, or incomplete. Check the source when the detail matters. Catch Gist is not a lawyer, doctor, or financial adviser.
- Do not present generated speech as a real person's voice, a recording of the original author, or an official statement.
- A refusal, a cutoff, or a wrong answer is not a failure of this policy. The policy still applies to the next thing you submit.
Reporting, enforcement, and appeals
Report a problem. Email support@catchgist.com. Say what happened, when it happened, and the account email if you know it. For anything involving a minor, describe it. Do not attach sexual material.
What we may do. We may block a prompt, drop a session, remove material, limit features, or suspend or close an account. We may do this without advance notice when the use risks harm, breaks the law, or repeats after a warning. Serious cases, including sexual content involving a minor, may be referred to the relevant authorities.
Appeal. Email support@catchgist.com with the subject "Appeal", the account email, and why you believe the decision was wrong. We will review that message and reply to the address you write from. Sending an appeal does not restore access while we review it.
